Salmon Fishing Survival Rally

Our salmon fishery is at a critical turning point
– your voice matters – come out and join us!

Salmon, fishing, saltwater, Pacific, hatchery, Chinook, enhancement, marine,

WHEN – Sunday April 19th – 10:00AM until Noon

WHERE – Langford Legion Hall, 761 Station Avenue, Langford, BC

WHAT – This is an important community rally focused on the future of salmon fishing in British Columbia. Learn how serious these threats are. Updates will be provided on the Salmon Allocation Policy review, Southern Resident Killer Whale salmon fisheries management and proposed new “Closed to Chinook Fishing” closures for 2026 and beyond. Plus information about potential re-allocation of Fraser Summer 5-2 Chinook salmon that, if approved by DFO, will negatively impact South Vancouver Island salmon anglers.

The event will feature three short but excellent presentations from our guest speakers, then brief addresses by distinguished guests, followed by an open question period for event attendees to learn more about the looming threats and air their concerns.

DONATIONS – This event is part of a coordinated advocacy effort to protect Canadians access to Pacific salmon, especially Chinook. The event organizers encourage anglers to make a donation so our coalition of fishing organizations can continue to fight on your behalf.
